7-9 pm, Saturday 21st February 2015
Location: City Church, Cheddars Lane, CB5 8LD
Dr Ruth M. Bancewicz, Senior Research Associate, The Faraday Institute, Cambridge
Dr Harvey McMahon, Group Leader, The Laboratory for Molecular Biology, Cambridge
Experiencing scientific research first hand brings a sense of awe that can enhance faith. This is a topic that Ruth Bancewicz has been investigating, alongside six other scientists, for the last three years. Science can be unglamorous and tough but it brings the opportunity to use creativity and imagination, and to appreciate the beauty of the natural world. These experiences raise spiritual questions, revealing common ground between science and faith.
Whether you are a professor or haven’t studied science since high school, come for an evening of exploration that will raise some important questions about both science and faith.
Entrance is free. The evening will include hands-on science demonstrations, short presentations, discussion and Q&A. Refreshments will be provided free of charge. The evening will be suitable for adults and young people over 14 years of age.
Parking: a number of spaces are available at City Church, and along Cheddars Lane.
